The Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA) welcomes all seafarer’s, water sports lovers and spectators to the Heineken Regatta Curaçao.
CPA, as a royal partner of the Heineken Regatta Curaçao, is proud to host this prestigious sailing event in the harbor of Willemstad, together with its two sister-companies: Curaçao Towage Company (KTK) and Curaçao Pilots Organization (CPO). CPA manages all the ports of Curaçao, as a limited liability company whose main shareholder is the island government. CPA is a landlord port authority, owning infrastructure and most of the superstructure of the ports, and is the driving force behind the development of the port, providing services, managing its property, equipment and marketing, and upgrading its facilities.
Curaçao boasts of several deepwater ports, most of them sheltered inlets and a unique natural harbor. CPA truly believes that the setting of the Heineken Regatta Curaçao in historic Willemstad is a one of a kind experience for all participants. Over 500 years sailors and merchants all over the world cherish this location for its commercial vibrancy, high standard facilities, reliable service and safe environment. For only one weekend the Willemstad harbor will be transformed into the central stage of this international sailing competition, as where CPA will have the operational task to coordinate and regulating the ordinary harbor traffic, especially for this memorable event.
CPA is dedicated to the commercial development of the ports of Curacao. These efforts are aimed at generating more economic activity in the ports and enhancing the properties in the harbor. Port management is approached from a private sector perspective and all investment and strategic policies are business-oriented. Port fees are reinvested in the maintenance and expansion of the ports. CPA regularly makes major investments in upgrading facilities and services to ensure the highest level of professional port operations. The yachting industry has our full attention as a potential market with great prospects.
