Heineken Regatta Curacao November 2008
Real Different

Heineken Curacao and Curacao Sailing Festival are proud to announce the 1st Heineken Regatta Curacao, which will be held on November 7th, 8th and 9th, 2008.
An excellent level of yacht maintenance, good nautical know how and the fact that Curacao is nicely situated below the hurricane belt, have led to an increase in all yachting activities on the island. More and more yachts are choosing Curacao as their safe haven and let the maintenance of their ships in the capable hands of mostly Dutch yacht workers.

The Heineken Regata Curacao will open or “Kick Off” the new regatta season and is followed by the cruising rally to the Virgin Islands. This Regatta will be surprisingly different. Therefore the slogan “Real Different”. The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta is our inspiration. The Heineken Regatta Curacao will be a 2 day racing event and a minimal equal amount of entertainment and fun.

You will be our guests on unique locations during day and nighttime. All events and races will be in and around the harbor and bay of the historical city of Willemstad, the ‘Annabaai’. All boats will actually be sailing and racing in the historic center of Willemstad and in the open sea in front of Willemstad. All competitive sailing boats will race for the unique NIBanc Cup.
There will be all sorts of activities on unique locations. From competitive sailing races to fishing competitions, a lighting boat parade at night, a UTS Family Pavilion and a Curacao Tourist Board cuisine and heritage event at Brion Plein.
Furthermore at the Regatta Village, located on the Kleine Werf, there will be a Premium market and at night top of the line entertainment. From live concerts and spectacular shows to a big terrace with a panorama view of all activities on the Annabaai and sea.
