Magnificent water spectacle during Heineken Regatta Curaçao
Plenty of racing and demonstrations in Anna Bay
Willemstad – There’s a good reason that the theme of the Heineken Regatta Curaçao is ‘Real Different’. There will be a large variety of races taking place in different water sports disciplines in different classes, which the public will be able to enjoy from the embankments of the Anna Bay. Next to the competition, there will be several exciting water sports demonstrations, including jet skiing, wake-boarding and kite surfing (if the weather permits). Heineken Curaçao & Bonaire and the Curaçao Sailing Festival foundation, along with their partners Curaçao Ports Authority, NIBanc, Banco di Caribe, ENNIA, Curaçao Tourism Bureau and UTS welcome everyone to the Regatta Village at Kleine Werf and to Brionplein, to come enjoy all the competitions and demonstrations. The first overall winner of the Heineken Regatta Curaçao will receive the prestigious NIBanc Cup.
On Friday November 7th, the Heineken Regatta Curaçao will be opened with a Captain’s Cocktail Party hosted by NIBanc. During this night with drinks, hors d’oeuvres, music and live entertainment by Juni Julliet, the NIBanc Cup will be presented to the public.

THE HIGHLIGHTS OF A WEEKEND FULL OF FESTIVITIES AT THE HEINEKEN REGATTA CURACAO
Willemstad – The Heineken Regatta Curaçao, with ‘Real Different’ as its theme, does not only take place on the water. The program features plenty of land-based activities. This is why the organization would like to emphasize that everyone is welcome this weekend, including non-sailors! Everyone is invited to come to Punda and Otrobanda this Saturday and Sunday to enjoy the massive range of fun activities that are taking place from Brionplein all the way to the Regatta Village at Kleine Werf. The embankments and the square around the Anna Bay will be transformed into a huge spectacle for young and old.
Heineken Curaçao & Bonaire and the Curaçao Sailing Festival Foundation, along with their partners Curaçao Ports Authority, NIBanc, Banco di Caribe, ENNIA, Curaçao Tourism Bureau and UTS, are busy with the final preparations to present the audience a magnificent event.
Highlights of the Heineken Regatta Curaçao will obviously be the performances by prominent international acts Basic One on Saturday and Alison Hinds on Sunday at the Regatta Village.

WILLEMSTAD – Just a few weeks after the announcement of the Heineken Regatta Curaçao, expectations are already soaring for this event that will take place on 7, 8 and 9 November 2008. Participants are registering and preparations are being made for a ‘Real Different’ experience. In addition to all the work that is going into guaranteeing an exciting race on the water, preparations are also being made to transform Brionplein, Handelskade and Kleine Werf into a true festival during the days of the regatta. Willemstad – In the final quarter of 2008, Curaçao will be completely captivated by the year’s biggest event: the first edition of the Heineken Regatta Curaçao, which will take place on 7,8 and 9 November. It has been inspired by the world famous St. Maarten Regatta, which has grown into an event where sailing and world-class music both take center stage.
The Heineken Regatta Curaçao will start and finish in historic downtown Willemstad. Spectators will not only witness a large number of water sports in several classes, but can also enjoy countless fun activities, including performances by several local artists in the Regatta Village at Kleine Werf, Handelskade and Brionplein. Heineken Curacao and Curacao Sailing Festival are proud to announce the 1st Heineken Regatta Curacao, which will be held on November 7th, 8th and 9th, 2008.
